AI consulting that ends in something that works
We help businesses figure out where AI actually fits, then we build it. No hundred-slide strategy deck: we look at your work, pick the one or two places AI may help most, and ship a working first version.
The problem
Everyone's being told to 'do something with AI'. The hard part isn't access to models, it's knowing which problem is worth solving first, and what to leave alone. Guessing wrong may be costing you money and team trust. Good AI consulting should narrow that down fast and end in software you can try.
What an engagement looks like
- Short call. You tell us how your business runs and where it hurts. We ask a lot of questions.
- Pick the first use case. We list the candidates, then pick the one with clear value, data you already have, and low risk if it's wrong.
- Build a working first version. Our AI development services cover agents, automations and integrations with the tools you already use.
- Test it with your team. Real people use it on real work. We measure whether it helps before anything grows.
- Decide next steps together. Expand it, change it, or stop. Stopping is a fine answer.
What we need from you
- A clear picture of the work and who does it today
- Access to the relevant tools and data, or a sample
- A decision maker who can say yes or no to the first use case
What it may not do
- We won't promise AI fixes a broken process; sometimes the fix is the process
- We don't sell a model or a platform license; we use what fits
- Not every idea is worth building, and we'll say when one isn't
FAQ
What does an AI consultant actually do?
Finds where AI may help your business, checks it's realistic with your data and tools, and builds or guides the first version.
Do you only advise, or do you build too?
We build. Consulting and AI development services are one engagement here, so advice gets tested in working software.
How is this different from your fractional CTO service?
Fractional CTO work covers your whole technology picture. AI consulting is focused on one question: where AI fits and getting it running.
Do we need clean data first?
Not always. We start with what you have and tell you honestly if the data blocks a use case.
Will AI actually pay off for our company?
Maybe not, and it's better to know before you spend. A widely shared October 2026 analysis found little measurable payoff from AI for large companies outside tech. The projects that do pay off pick one costly, repetitive task, measure it before and after, and stop if the number doesn't move. We start there, and we'll say so if AI isn't the fix.
How do you measure ROI on an AI project?
We pick one number you already track, like hours per invoice or tickets per person, measure it before the build, and check it again after launch. No benchmarks borrowed from other companies, just yours.
Where are you based?
CTO.LA is in Beverly Hills, California, founded in 2025. We work with businesses remotely too.
